Java Backend Developer – Spring / JavaEE / JakartaEE (m/f/d)

Avision GmbH is an IT service provider specializing in software revival for application development and support. As an alternative to complete new implementations, which are often costly and risky, Avision modernizes companies’ legacy software in an efficient way. Our team currently comprises 140 employees – experts with more than 25 years of professional experience, but also young professionals with fresh ideas.

Your tasks

  • As a member of one of our cross-functional teams, you will develop custom software solutions in varied and interesting projects for our major clients.
  • Development of sophisticated technical concepts and architectures based on established Java technologies, and their implementation using, for example, JavaEE/JakartaEE, Spring, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Docker, Kubernetes, and many more.
  • You will influence the adoption of new technologies and contribute your ideas to modernize and further develop our clients’ software.
  • You are free to choose the operating system for your laptop with us (Windows or Linux)

Your profile

  • Strong willingness to take initiative, along with a solution-oriented and self-reliant work ethic
  • Open and flexible personality with enthusiasm for working in a motivated and innovative team
  • At least 2 years of experience in developing Java backend applications using JavaEE/JakartaEE or Spring
  • Solid knowledge of Java and confident use of SQL
  • Experience with build environments based on Git and Gradle/Maven
  • Advantageous but not mandatory: experience with Kafka, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Azure DevOps), Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Very good command of German
