DevOps Engineer / Cloud Engineer (m/f/d)

Avision GmbH is an IT service provider specializing in software revival for application development and support. As an alternative to complete new implementations, which are often costly and risky, Avision modernizes companies’ legacy software in an efficient way. Our team currently comprises 130 employees – experts with more than 25 years of professional experience, but also young professionals with fresh ideas.

Your tasks

  • Support in providing the application infrastructure, including cloud platforms Azure/Kubernetes and No-SQL databases for our software development process including ordering and configuration
  • Setting up and operating applications (e. g., Apache Server, Java Application Server, Kafka, PostgreSQL)
  • Maintaining, extending and optimizing the continuous integration and deployment pipeline
  • Troubleshooting, error diagnosis, technical support and implementation of proposed solutions are also part of your responsibilities
  • Supporting us in the migration to the Azure Cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and working on our existing on-premise solutions (e. g., VMs, Docker).
  • Optimizing the software delivery process to bring products and features online faster and more efficiently
  • Mastering Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible
  • Additionally, you actively participate in the development of projects based on modern web technologies

Your profile

  • A successfully completed degree in (specialized/business) computer science, mathematics, business administration or an apprenticeship as an IT specialist in application development.
  • Practical experience with cloud projects and container orchestration (e. g., Kubernetes, Docker)
  • CI/CD is not a foreign concept to you and you continuously optimize your pipelines.
  • Very good knowledge of Python or Bash
  • Experience in developing modern applications and services based on Java, C#, Angular or React
  • A solution-oriented and self-reliant working style
  • An analytical, flexible and holistic approach to complex problems and requirements
  • Very good German language skills
